The World’s Best Club Is Still Here and Match Day Just Got Even Better
KANSAS CITY (July 15, 2026) — The Kansas City Current is back at home. When the team returns to CPKC Stadium on Friday, July 17, for the first time during the second half of the NWSL regular season, fans will find more than just the world’s best women’s soccer club waiting for them. They’ll discover an even better matchday experience.
During the summer break, significant progress has been made throughout Current Landing and at CPKC Stadium, creating easier access for fans while revealing new public spaces and amenities that continue to transform the district into one of the premier destinations in Kansas City.
What’s New at CPKC Stadium + Current Landing
Fans returning to the Riverfront will notice several exciting additions now open:
- Founder’s Park is officially accessible, providing a new community gathering space and an enhanced pedestrian experience leading to CPKC Stadium.
- The Overlook at Founder’s Park is now open, offering another unique destination allowing pedestrians an up-close-and-personal walk over the mighty Missouri River.
- The Riverfront Heritage Trail is re-opened, with the pedestrian pathway connecting Founder’s Park and Current Landing Town Square completed. These updates create a seamless walk from the streetcar stop and surrounding trails to the stadium.
- Current Landing Pre-Match Food + Beverage is now open, located just north of the KC Current Team Store, giving fans another food and beverage option before entering CPKC Stadium.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to explore the newest additions throughout the Riverfront before kickoff. The Current faces the first-place San Diego Wave at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, July 17, on Prime Video. Fans can also listen to the radio broadcast in English on 90.9 The Bridge as well as in English, Spanish or Portuguese on the KC Current App.
